Magdeburg University’s independent test confirms: GLA-WEL stainless steel wall-mounted penstocks are leakproof

On the upcoming occasion of the world’s leading trade fair for water, sewage, refuse and recycling, the IFAT 2014 in Munich (5.-9.5.2014), GLA-WEL GmbH’s business unit Sewage and Water Treatment Technology, located in Melle in Lower Saxony, has announced positive test results for its stainless steel wall-mounted penstocks. Magdeburg University’s independent product test proves the leak-tightness of the stainless steel wall-mounted penstocks from the back, even under high pressure. It was possible to repeat the positive constant measurement results several times.
In perfect time for the IFAT, there is good news from GLA-WEL. The stainless steel wall-mounted penstocks, having the dimensions 200, 500 and 1000 mm, have been subjected to an independent leakage test from the back at Magdeburg University. The specialists at the University gave verification of constant positive test results, which had been repeated several times, to the manufacturer of stainless steel sewage valves.
The back of the valves were tested for leakage by building up a water column that was increased in steps of 0.3 m on the test rig. In the course of this, the stainless steel wall-mounted penstocks withstood a pressure of up to 0.6 bar, i.e. a 6 m water column, without any problems; partly much higher values were reached (up to 8 m). Further tests are being planned.
GLA-WEL will also be present as an exhibitor in 2014 at their usual place in Hall A4, Booth 331. Visitors can inform themselves about new products and the details of test results at the fair booth.
